Dehradun : On Saturday State’s Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi held a meeting with departmental officers in the auditorium of Directorate of Sainik Welfare, located on Kalidas Road, in connection with the preparations for the newly constructed memorial inauguration program in memory of the country’s first CDS late General Vipin Rawat. In the meeting, Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi gave necessary directions to the officers. The minister also directed the officers to plan the program in a systematic manner.
Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi said that a memorial is being constructed by the government in Dehradun in the memory of the country’s first CDS late General Bipin Rawat. In which the statue of General Rawat has also been installed, he said that General Saheb was always devoted to the respect and affection that all the people of Uttarakhand, including the youth of the state, had towards General Bipin Rawat. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to construct a memorial in the park near Kanak Chowk in Dehradun, where a statue of about 9 feet has been installed.
Minister Ganesh Joshi said that on April 14, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will unveil the statue built in the memory of late General Bipin Rawat. Ex-servicemen along with the family members of late CDS General Bipin Rawat will be present in the programme. After the meeting, the minister also inspected the under-construction memorial at Kanak Chowk and gave necessary directions to the officials to complete the construction work at the earliest. Minister Joshi said that the government is continuously working for the honor and welfare of the martyrs.
On this occasion, Brigadier Amrutlal Lal, director of Sainik Welfare, along with officers and ex-servicemen were present.
